An Encouraging Start to the Rainy Season

The rainy season in Thailand this year is a peaceful one.  With a haze and a muggy heat resting over the wet terrain, it’s a sleepy season!  Still, we have had some encouraging developments at TCI in Thailand this month!

The New Vision Church continues to thrive.  With Pastor Shan preaching on grace and Jesus’ life, the atmosphere of the church is one of joy and excitement.  We have had a few Shan visitors each week due to our weekend outreaches.  Pastor Suwon is continuing to translate the sermons into Thai and lead outreaches to local villages on Saturdays.   Our next step to getting more visitors is putting a sign in town and putting one at the entrance of our property.  Our heart is for our community to know about us and feel comfortable coming on Sundays, so they can experience the Gospel and come to a saving knowledge of Him!  If you have a heart to help us put a sign at the front of our property, we could use your help!  Please contact us for more information.

We had two special visitors this past month, Jennae Piatt and Lee Woonghee.  This fun-loving couple teamed up to teach the school kids voice, keyboard, and guitar.  At the end of the month, the kids performed a piece they had practiced.  The event was enjoyable for everyone!  There were even special performances by Shan & Lindsey (staff) and Jennae & Lee!

Mango season is in full swing once again.  We are thankful to God for the harvest this year!  Each day is filled with unwrapping, packing, and selling the mangos.  They have had several large sales.  Continue to pray for the farm, as the farmers have  some goals and aspirations for next year that cannot be accomplished without God’s help and the giving of the Body of Christ!  Here’s a picture of Dido, Sawang’s faithful dog, guarding the mangos.  He looks pretty hungry, though.

The TCI Tutoring Center is just about to end their first nine-week term in intensive English.  The students are doing well, but admit they have a lot left to learn!  The school building is very comfortable now, with fans, desks, and a reading corner for the students!  Lindsey has hopes to hire a part-time Thai teacher in order for the students to continue to develop their Thai.  Pray for us to find a teacher for this position, and for the finances to hire him/her!

All in all, we feel God’s protection and blessing over the family here at TCI.  The staff (Shan, Lindsey, Jae Fong, Sawang, and Mung) have been holding down the fort for several months while Pastor David and Paula are in the States.  We praise God for good health, joy, and strength– even during very hot weather!  Please join us in prayer for the following things, and perhaps consider being a part of the answer!  We are blessed to call you friends and supporters!

  • Finances to build a sign at the entrance of New Vision Church
  • The mango farm to prosper, and for our goals for next year to proceed with God’s help
  • A Thai teacher for the tutoring center and the funds to hire them
  • Continued peace, joy, and passion for the TCI staff in Thailand

As always, thank you for your faithful partnership.  We are united in the Body of Christ to accomplish the mission!
