We have a goal of sponsoring 25 pastors and their spouses or families to TCI’s Leadership Conference in January 2016! Last year, we were able to host 15 pastors and their spouses.
Our Leadership Conference provides the chance for Shan ministry leaders or pastors to enjoy a time of fellowship, teaching, and worship with other men and women of God. The Shan people group is one of the unreached people groups in the world. Pastors and ministers among the Shan are far and few between. Therefore, a chance to come and be fed spiritually while fellowshipping with other men and women of God is invaluable to these leaders!
Last year, pastors commented that the conference was “encouraging” and that the Shan book of Romans we distributed were one of the “best books they’ve ever read”! All the pastors seemed to grow from the teaching, and to really enjoy the Shan worship services. During the day, pastors will fellowship and hear teaching from various guest speakers and as well as our own pastors. They get the chance to share what God is doing in their ministry. In the evenings, they get to worship together in their heart language to inspirational Shan songs, and hear powerful preaching.
It costs $70 to sponsor a pastor to attend the conference. This covers his or her food, lodging, and local transportation. Last year, we were able to house them in our ministry’s dormitories and serve them authentic Shan meals, which they really enjoyed as they fellowshipped together! This year, we would like to increase our number of pastors to 25! Some pastors have spouses or children they would like to bring. To sponsor a family, it costs $140.
We would ask that you consider sponsoring a pastor and/or their family to this uplifting event. With your help, these men and women of God can take this once-a-year opportunity to be fed and encouraged by the Word of God alongside fellow Shan ministers of God.
